The Omnipod® 5 insulin patch pump is an advanced, wireless insulin pump that's part of the Omnipod 5 AID System . This patch pump is worn directly on the skin and delivers insulin for up to 72 hours , completely tubing-free.
The pump features an integrated insulin reservoir (200 IU), an automatic insertion needle (cannula), an adhesive layer for secure attachment, and is completely waterproof (IP28) . Thanks to the Bluetooth connection, the pump communicates with the Omnipod 5 operating system and the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor or Dexcom G7 sensor for automatic insulin delivery based on real-time glucose values.
The cannula is inserted with a single push of a button, and the viewing window allows you to easily check whether everything is properly positioned. During normal use, the control system must remain within 1.5 meters of the pump for continuous communication.
